Introduction
Critical thinking is in the Top 10 skills that employers claim to seek. With information overload, critical thinking helps to examine information and know how to access information you can trust. It gives mental agility to apply insights from one context to another. It helps to balance logical, emotional and strategic thinking to avoid over-thinking.
Creative thinking helps you to see things differently and deal with uncertainty better. You get thoughts that are new, useful and surprising. Business is getting more complex but our thinking remains simplistic and biased.
Yet, we all have innate creativity that just needs to be re-ignited. School is good in many ways, but it killed creativity as we were brain-washed into the ONLY one-way of solving problems – the correct rule or principle to apply.
Creative thinking enables you to solve problems in unique ways. Other companies can be good in critical thinking and yet, their solutions are probably very similar, if they do not apply creative thinking. With creative products/ services, you stand out with a big unique advantage is solving the same problem.
